School Calendar

the American International School

At the American International School we take particular care to factor into our program allowance for smooth educational transition from country to country. We recognize that holiday time is also an important element in this process.

To ensure as little disruption as possible, we have tailored our calendar to follow the northern hemisphere calendar; starting the school year in August, ending the first week in June, with 8 weeks break in June and July. This allows our students to travel home with their families to their own country in order to spend time with friends and relatives.

We also have a four-week break in December – January, one week in April for Easter and one week in October. This overlaps with the Australian Schools calendar and gives students time with Australian friends and family as well as time to enjoy the local cultural and travel opportunities.

"High standards, truly multicultural, northern hemisphere calendar make AIS unique and allow our daughter to adapt easily to a new environment."
